For over 100 days, the international community has watched the deadliest conflict of the 21st century, while failing to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and Israel - the only humanitarian measure that now really matters. Based on UN figures, 250 Palestinians are killed every day and 1.9 million people have been forced from their homes. Over 90% of Gaza's population suffers from extreme hunger. Without a ceasefire, the entire population risks starvation. We cannot look away.

Despite extremely difficult conditions, Oxfam and partner organizations have reached 73,000 people in Gaza with food, medicine and hygiene products. But neither we nor other organizations can fully carry out our work unless a ceasefire is established immediately. Hundreds of people are dying every day because of the attacks, but even more are at risk of dying from hunger and disease.

Sweden must be on the right side of history. Tobias Billström, you are the country's Foreign Minister. An entire population is at risk of starvation - and we urge you to do everything you can to establish a permanent ceasefire immediately. The people of Gaza cannot wait.
